About Lynda
I have always had a passion for helping others and started my career in Nursing at the age of 15. I became a Registered Nurse in my mid twenties, but midwifery is where my heart lies. I became a midwife in my late twenties, training at the Royal Women's Hospital in Brisbane, a year before my husband John and I started our own family.

John and I, with our first baby, left Queensland and settled in New Zealand. We had five more children, three girls and three boys all up! They are now all employed and independent, the youngest has recently attained her license and own transport. Yeah!
​
I believe homebirth should be an available choice for low risk women, who have good pregnancy care. Giving birth in a safe, familiar, supportive environment, in the space of your choice with knowledgeable, equipped, supportive midwives, (two midwives always at a birth) is a beautiful, empowering life event for all involved.

John and I moved back to Queensland in 2006, and settled in the Gympie area. I have worked as a midwife at Gympie Hospital since 2007. Dawn and I felt led to start our own Private Midwifery Practice in 2022, and are loving caring for local women and empowering them to enjoy the amazing experience of bringing a child into the world.

Antenatal Care
Walking with you every step of the way up to birth. Care during the pregnancy is important to ensure mum and bub are healthy. Services include all Bloodtest's, Ultra-sounds and all other key routine assessment, as well as referrals if required .
Home Birth
My focus is providing safe midwifery during your home birth in an environment of your choice. Providing you with peace, security and comfort.
Postnatal Care
Once the baby is born, and especially for first time parents ensuring the baby remains well and adjusting to this new lifestyle is very important. We provide you with ample experience and help you step into this new stage of life!
